Questar III BOCES Students Serve Special Meal to Local Veterans

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, culinary arts students at the Questar III BOCES Robert H. Gibson Technical School in Troy treated local veterans to a turkey dinner with all the fixings and dessert. The students and culinary arts staff present the luncheon annually as a thank you to veterans for their service to our nation.

The luncheon was initiated about 20 years ago by students who wanted a way to show their appreciation to local veterans. The event helps the students prepare for a career in the culinary arts where they might be involved in preparing and serving meals on a large scale, such as in a catering environment.

Nearly 100 local veterans, including Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin (shown in attached photo 2), enjoyed the meal and the company of other veterans and praised the students for their talents.
