Port of Albany Senior Team Leaders accept Board Appointments



(June 26, 2025) Port of Albany Chief Executive Officer Richard J. Hendrick recently joined the Board of Directors of the Seafarers International House NYC, which, in partnership with the Episcopal Church since its founding in 1834, serves the needs of Mariners and Seafarers in the New York Region.

 

Hendrick, with the Port since 2004, has led the Port to historic increases in ships, tonnage and longshore labor hours worked – as well as investments in infrastructure and Port district growth in additional to environmental leadership in its eight-year consecutive Green Marine certification, a voluntary program that sets an environmentally forward benchmark for ports in North America.

 

Additionally, Hendrick serves as the Vice Chair of the American Association of Port Authorities, on the Board of Commissioners of Pilots of the State of New York, has served in several leadership roles of the North Atlantic Ports Association, and was named to City & State NY’s 2024 Transportation Power 100 list. He is also on the Board of the Historic Cherry Hill in Albany’s South End and serves on the Board of Directors of the W.F. Bruen Hose Company [Clinton Heights Fire Department] in East Greenbush, NY.

Port of Albany Chief Financial Officer Christine Stuto recently accepted a seat on the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of St. Catherine’s Center for Children, a leading non-profit agency based in Albany, NY, dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and families in the region and as the representative for New York/Northern New Jersey on the Board of Directors for the North Atlantic Ports Association, a trade association of commercial seaports located between the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Canadian Maritime Provinces.

 

Stuto most recently volunteered on the Board and as an Officer for the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York and as a religious education teacher for St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. In addition, she represents the Port of Albany with the Finance Committee of the American Association of Port Authorities and the Capital Region Transportation Council’s Policy Committee.
