Port of Albany Senior Team Leaders accept Board Appointments

(June 26, 2025) Port of Albany Chief Executive Officer Richard J. Hendrick recently joined the Board of Directors of the Seafarers International House NYC, which, in partnership with the Episcopal Church since its founding in 1834, serves the needs of Mariners and Seafarers in the New York Region.

Hendrick, with the Port since 2004, has led the Port to historic increases in ships, tonnage and longshore labor hours worked – as well as investments in infrastructure and Port district growth in additional to environmental leadership in its eight-year consecutive Green Marine certification, a voluntary program that sets an environmentally forward benchmark for ports in North America.

Additionally, Hendrick serves as the Vice Chair of the American Association of Port Authorities, on the Board of Commissioners of Pilots of the State of New York, has served in several leadership roles of the North Atlantic Ports Association, and was named to City & State NY’s 2024 Transportation Power 100 list. He is also on the Board of the Historic Cherry Hill in Albany’s South End and serves on the Board of Directors of the W.F. Bruen Hose Company [Clinton Heights Fire Department] in East Greenbush, NY.
