NEWS RELEASE

Port of Albany releases RFP for Wharf Infrastructure Upgrades

(August 28. 2025) The Port of Albany is requesting sealed proposals from qualified vendors for the wharf upgrades at the Port of Albany terminal (Smith Blvd, Albany) [RFP#2025-05 Wharf Upgrades].

The project is to upgrade the on-dock rail and strengthen the surrounding and encompassing wharf deck infrastructure. The total linear footage of wharf to be rehabilitated is approximately 1160 LF, with a total rail track replacement of approximately 930 LF.

Interested parties are referred to the engineering report, contract drawings and other information enclosed within the bid document housed on the Port’s website that reflect the research and preferences for the overall Scope of Work.

The qualified vendor will enable the Port of Albany to improve operational effectiveness, enhance quality of services, minimize support costs, and maximize economic development in the region. A contract will be awarded to the most responsible and respondent vendor who provides the lowest bid.

Sealed proposals must be received at Port of Albany Administrative offices, located at 106 Smith Boulevard, Albany, New York, 12202.

The Port continues to have an annual impact of more than $813 million and approximately 4,500 jobs throughout the state.
