MOSAIC ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF PRINCIPAL THERESA MOROUKIAN

Troy, N.Y. (September 10, 2026) — Mosaic Associates Architects has announced the retirement of Principal and Director of Finance and Human Resources Theresa Moroukian after more than 30 years with the firm.

Moroukian, who will retire at the end of the year, joined Mosaic in 1992 and became a driving force behind the firm’s operations, finance, human resources and organizational development.

During her three decades with the firm, she developed many of the financial management systems, human resources practices and staff development programs that continue to guide the organization.

“Theresa has had a profound impact on Mosaic,” said Mosaic Principal Callie L. Gaspary. “She helped build the foundation of how our firm operates today. Her leadership in finance, human resources and organizational development strengthened every part of the company and set a standard for how we support our people, develop future leaders, and grow as a firm.”

One of Moroukian’s most significant accomplishments came when Mosaic transitioned to a design professional corporation to create the opportunity for her to become the firm’s first non-licensed principal and associate partner. Her appointment marked an important milestone for Mosaic and opened the door for future non-licensed professionals to pursue leadership opportunities.

“I never imagined when I came here that it would become the career it has been,” Moroukian said. “It started as an accounting position, but through hard work, dedication and people who believed in me, it became so much more. I’m proud and grateful for the journey.”

Known for her collaborative leadership style, Moroukian championed the development of talent from within the organization.

“Good leaders create more leaders, not followers,” she said. “I hope the next generation continues to empower people to become the best version of themselves.”

As she prepares to step down and spend more time on the golf course, Moroukian said she is excited about the firm’s future.

“We have the right people in the right seats, and I think they’re going to do great things,” she said.

Outside of Mosaic, Moroukian served on the board of the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region and the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, supporting leadership development and community initiatives throughout the Capital Region.

She is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in accounting and business management and a 2012 graduate of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber Leadership Institute.
