Pioneer’s Grand Carnival Welcomes More Than 800 Attendees,

Raises Record $70,000 to Support Local Children and Families in Need

The Pioneer Charitable Foundation’s signature event has raised more than $245,000 over six years, directly benefitting upwards of 175 Capital Region nonprofits

Albany, NY – Pioneer (NASDAQ: PBFS), a leading financial institution in New York’s Capital Region, today welcomed over 800 children, adults, and families to its Grand Carnival, which raised a record $70,000 benefitting local families and children through the Pioneer Charitable Foundation.

The Grand Carnival is the foundation’s signature event offering games, activities, food and fun for the entire family. In its sixth year the event has collectively raised more than $245,000, all of which goes directly to local nonprofit organizations supporting the health and welfare of local children, echoing the foundation’s mission of “Helping Kids be Kids.”

“What makes the Grand Carnival special is that a single day of fun makes a real difference,” said Pioneer President and CEO Tom Amell. “Every dollar raised goes directly to local nonprofits improving the lives of children in our community, and that impact is felt well after the event is over.”

A variety of family friendly activities were available throughout the day including magic shows, a kids’ dance contest, carnival games, face and pumpkin painting, and sand art. In addition, radio station B95.5 FM provided entertainment throughout the event, which was held under a large tent in the parking lot of Pioneer’s headquarters.

The Premier Sponsor of Pioneer’s Grand Carnival was Pediatric Dental Group of New York. Lunch Sponsor was USA Gas. Cookie Truck Sponsors were Concord Pools & Spas, Davco Masonry, DLA Piper and Robert Alessi, Esq., Earl B. Feiden Appliance, Harris Beach Murtha, Janitronics Facility Services, Mastercard, and Wainschaf Associates. Entertainment Sponsors were FIS, Hodgson Russ, RM Logistics Inc., and Strategy Corps.

Game & Activity Sponsors included Belmonte Builders, Bette & Cring Construction Group, Colonial Drywall Group, DePaula Auto Group, Highbridge Property Management, Homestead Funding Corp., ICPD Institute for Clinical Pharmacodynamics, Lemery Greisler LLC, NAI Platform, Machnick Builders, LTD, and WPNT Construction. “Helping Kids be Kids” Sponsors were Beacon Payments, Ckm Electrical Services, Inc., DePaula Auto Group, Dwight Plumbing & Heating, East Coast Power LLC, eLot Recycling, Frank’s Ice Cream & Restaurant, Hudson Valley Community College Foundation, LeRoy, Linda & Riley, Mackey Electric, Inc., Marcella's Appliance Center, Nigro Retail Properties, North East Fire Protection Systems, Inc., Traditional Landscaping, and WP Strategic Holdings.

The Pioneer Charitable Foundation has surpassed more than $1.9 million in giving, and exceeded 16,000 employee volunteer hours, since it was established in 2018. Funding has been provided to more than 400 local nonprofits that supply housing, nutrition, or health care, and/or educational, social and recreational programs, supporting the Foundation’s mission of “Helping Kids be Kids.” In addition, Pioneer underwrites all operational costs, so 100% of money raised helps local children, families and organizations in need.

“Over the past six years, the Grand Carnival has grown into something truly special,” said Susan Hollister, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer and Co-Chair of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation. “It’s a day filled with fun and laughter that also creates lasting impact. We are proud to continue this tradition and grateful to our community for making it a success year after year.”
