Pioneer Donates More Than 4,100 School Supplies to Support Capital Region Students

Donations benefit students across the Capital Region, including Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties.

Albany, NY – Pioneer (NASDAQ: PBFS)a leading financial institution in New York’s Capital Region, has donated more than 4,100 school supplies to help students start the year prepared and ready to learn. Supplies collected from customers and employees were distributed to this year’s beneficiaries: the Lansingburgh Central School District, Hudson City School District, and Tri-County United Way, which together serve thousands of local children.

Now in its fifth year, Pioneer’s School Supply Drive has provided more than 18,000 supplies to local students in need.

“No child should have to start the school year without the supplies they need,” said Thomas Amell, President and CEO of Pioneer. “Through the Pioneer Charitable Foundation and our annual School Supply Drive, we are proud to help families turn back-to-school season from a difficult time into an exciting start for every child, providing the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.”

In Lansingburgh, donations supported middle school and kindergarten students, while Hudson distributed supplies at a Back to School Ice Cream Social. Through Tri-County United Way’s Kids With Packs initiative, supplies from Pioneer and other local partners were packed into more than 700 backpacks and distributed to students in Warren, Washington, and northern Saratoga Counties.

“We are incredibly grateful to Pioneer for their generous donation of school supplies and for their continued commitment to supporting students across the Capital Region. Thanks to their contributions, we were able to provide essential items to families in need, helping ensure our students start the year confident and prepared,” said Dr. Brian Bailey, Hudson CSD Interim Superintendent. “Partnerships like this make a meaningful difference in our community, and we’re proud to work alongside Pioneer to support the success of every child.”

This effort reflects the mission of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation, “Helping Kids be Kids,” which supports the health, welfare, and education of children across the Capital Region. Throughout the year, Pioneer hosts various drives to support local organizations and provide essential supplies to children and families within the community. Since 2018, the Foundation has provided more than $1.9 million to local nonprofits supporting children and families.
