Loan Officer

We are seeking a motivated and member-focused Loan Officer responsible for delivering exceptional member service while evaluating, processing, and closing consumer loan applications. This role supports members in achieving their financial goals by recommending appropriate lending solutions, ensuring sound underwriting practices, and maintaining compliance with all policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Interview members to assess lending needs and recommend appropriate loan products
Evaluate loan applications, including credit reports, income, and collateral, to make sound lending decisions within authority limits
Clearly explain loan terms, rates, and conditions to ensure member understanding
Process and close loans accurately and efficiently
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies
Build and maintain strong member relationships through proactive communication and follow-up
Identify cross-sell opportunities and refer members to other products and services as appropriate
Monitor loan pipeline and ensure timely processing and decisioning
Collaborate with branch and lending teams to support overall goals
Qualifications:

Experience:
One to three years of similar or related experience in financial services or retail banking/credit union.
NMLS Registration and Notary certification a plus
Education: High School Diploma or GED

Required Skills:
Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of consumer lending and financial products
Ability to balance service, sales, and operational priorities
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with banking systems, digital tools, and Microsoft office products

Employment Details:
Location: HRCCU Operations Center, Corinth, NY.
Pay Rate: $18.50-$25.00 based on candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills relevant to the position.
