Assume the leadership role in the overall management of the living unit for Youth. Responsible for mentoring, coaching, and supporting direct care staff to ensure the treatment plans of individuals in the home are implemented appropriately. Supervise, mentor, and assists in the delivery of the program to assist individuals in requiring the skill and self-esteem needed to establish and achieve personal goals.

Primary Duties and Essential Functions:

· Supervision, mentoring, coaching and evaluation of direct care staff to ensure treatment goals for individuals are met.

· Assist hiring process including interviewing and selection of staff, training of staff, planning, assigning and directing work.

· Reviews and approves time cards.

· Ensures staff have met all training requirements for their position and ensures physicals are in compliance.

· Ensures all direct care staff understands and is able to implement the Treatment Plans and Behavior Support Plan for all individuals in their living unit.

· Responsible for actively engaging staff and individuals in effective treatment activities and offer a variety of age appropriate recreational and social experiences for individuals.

· Acts as primary liaison for family, clinician and treatment team issues.

· Ensures the safety of the individuals and facility, including completion of monthly environment checklist, monthly fire drills, inspection and stocking of spill kits and any other health and safety requirements.

· Ensures there is a current approved, posted menu in the cottage and ensures dietary standards are followed i.e., appropriate snack portion size adherence to menu.

· Ensure USDA meal census requirements are being followed and documented daily. Review, approve and submit to Business Office in accordance with billing deadlines.

· Responsible for budget management for their living unit.

· Oversees the purchasing of household supplies, program supplies, and clothing in accordance with all agency policies and procedures.

· Implements the program’s daily schedule and ensure completion of routines and life skill activities.

· Overseas the planning for special events, holidays, birthdays, etc. are recognized and celebrated

· Maintains an environment that is safe by ensuring agency policies are upheld

· Review individual logs & locators to ensure completion.

· Dispenses and/or oversees the dispensing of medication. Monitors procedures, ensuring that medications are inventoried and reordered as needed, in collaboration with nursing staff.

· Responsible for banking of individuals in their living units.

· Develops and maintains annual financial ledgers

· Responsible for proper documentation and notifications regarding vehicle maintenance, cleanliness and mileage.

· Participates in the Treatment Team, Clinical Management meetings, and other committees as assigned.

· Manages in accordance with applicable Laws, regulations, union contract, agency policies, etc.

· Attends elective internal and external training for continued professional development.

· Responsible to check email daily and communicate appropriate information to staff.

Residential Administrator on Duty (AOD)/Managerial Coverage:

· In the absence of an AOD functions as the point person for the Residential Treatment Center.

· Duties include but are not limited to: facility security checks, walk through, collecting and processing pertinent paperwork.

· Ensuring staffing standards are in adherence to regulatory standards.

· Assigning and reassigning staff accordance to the individual needs of the units.

Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:

· Minimum of High School Diploma with at least 10 years of related management experience.

· Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

· Valid NYS Driver's License with clean MVR.

· Ability to complete all training including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and perform a physical restraint.

· Must be able to walk and run in order to maintain safety of individuals.

Abilities and Working Conditions:

· Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

· Willingness to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population.

· Ability to deal positively with the changing priorities in a fast paced environment.

· Display a positive, professional and proactive attitude to accomplish quality work that is in line with the agency's mission statement.

· Seek opinions, alternative viewpoints in decision making. Understand and respect the expertise and experience of others, appropriate the different views, and the perspective and limitations of other individuals

· Exhibits a professional, courteous demeanor with internal and external constituents.
