Wildwood Foundation to Hold Annual Walk for Wildwood on September 26
Latham, NY (July 29, 2026) – Wildwood invites community members, local businesses, families, and individuals we support to lace up their sneakers and join the annual Walk for Wildwood on Saturday, September 26 at Cook Park in Colonie.
The Walk for Wildwood is a family-friendly celebration dedicated to raising awareness and crucial funds for individuals with autism and complex learning and developmental disabilities. Participants can walk as individuals or form teams with coworkers, friends, and family to support Wildwood’s lifelong educational, residential, recreational, social, and employment services to more than 1,600 individuals across the Capital Region.
“The Walk for Wildwood is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a day where our entire community comes together to celebrate our mission by recognizing the incredible individuals we support, Wildwood’s dedicated staff, and our generous community partners,” said Nicole Babie, Director of Foundation.
All attendees will receive a Walk for Wildwood t-shirt while enjoying live music from Watch Reggie Run, refreshments courtesy of Hannaford, and the Community Fair with an variety of vendors, including face painting and balloon animals. Jen DeGroff, a NASM-certified personal trainer, will kick-off the walk with a group warm-up.

For nearly 60 years, Wildwood has been committed to providing comprehensive supports and services to individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities, complex learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders to live more independent, productive, and fulfilling lives. Approved by the New York State Education Department, Wildwood School serves students ages 5–22 from approximately 60 school districts across 14 counties.
