WHITEMAN OSTERMAN & HANNA LLP ANNOUNCES TWO NEW ASSOCIATES
Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna LLP, the Capital Region’s largest law firm, has announced that two new associates, Arthur Nix and David Craft, have joined the firm. Nix has joined the firm’s Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Groups, and Craft has joined the Real Estate Practice Group.
In his new role, Nix will counsel both public and private employers on a wide range of employment law issues, and will represent clients at all stages of civil litigation.
Prior to joining Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna, Nix was an assistant law clerk for the Honorable Elizabeth A. Garry, Presiding Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department. In this position, he was responsible for researching and analyzing legal issues of appeals before the court; drafting and editing opinions, memoranda and correspondences from the presiding justice; and performing administrative and clerical duties necessary for the functioning of chambers. During law school, Nix served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Andrew G. Ceresia in New York State Supreme Court.
Nix holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, English Literature from New York University. He graduated summa cum laude from Albany Law School of Union University in 2021 with his Juris Doctor. He resides in Troy.
Craft will be responsible for representing public, not-for-profit, and private entities in real estate and development, with an emphasis on acquisition, financing, development, leasing, and disposition of commercial and corporate real property, including the preparation and negotiations of all transactional documents.
Before joining Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna, Craft was an associate attorney at Wallace Turner Law, LLP, representing individuals and entities in real estate closings. He was responsible for reviewing and drafting purchase and sale contracts for real estate and business assets; examining title and draft title commitments for real estate transactions; representing for-profit and non-for-profit entities on formation matters, corporate governance and transactional matters; negotiating and drafting commercial leases for charter schools, day care centers and small business and negotiating membership interest purchase agreements for a private equity acquisition.
Craft holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2016 with his Juris Doctor. He resides in Albany.
