Special Olympics New York Vaulted By Broadview Donation Based on Paris 2024 Team USA Medal Count
Fans of the Olympics have an extra reason to cheer on Team USA during this year’s Paris 2024 Games, which officially open tomorrow in France.
Broadview Federal Credit Union will celebrate Team USA’s Olympic success by supporting the talented athletes of Special Olympics New York. Broadview will make a financial contribution to Special Olympics NY for every medal Team USA wins during this year’s Olympic competition.
Broadview CEO Michael Castellana announced that Broadview will donate $500 for every gold, $250 per silver, and $125 for every bronze medal won by the United States Olympic Team. The Broadview funds will support the Special Olympics New York Fall Games in Glens Falls this October.
“The Olympics present an outstanding opportunity for all of us to come together as Americans as we celebrate the achievements and successes of Team USA. Along with cheering on the women and men going for gold in Paris, we’re thrilled to help Special Olympians across New York pursue their dreams,” said Broadview CEO Michael Castellana. “Broadview is proud to once again partner with Special Olympics NY, an organization at the top of its game when it comes to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities and creating opportunities for inclusion and belonging that make our communities stronger.”
As an added bonus, Castellana and his wife Ashley will personally donate $250 for each gold, $125 for each silver, and $75 for each bronze medal won by Team USA to further support Special Olympics New York.
“Broadview’s support for our champions is such a special way to amplify the excitement and buzz of the Paris 2024 Games,” said Special Olympics New York President & CEO Stacey Hengsterman. “We are so grateful for Michael Castellana’s continuing leadership and commitment to our athletes. In addition to the awareness our Broadview partnership brings to the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities, the financial contribution will enhance this year’s State Fall Games event for our athletes.”

Approximately 800 athletes and coaches from throughout New York will compete in seven sports: Bocce, Cycling, Golf, Cross Country Running, Soccer, Softball and Equestrian.
