Questar III BOCES Appoints New Director of Communications

Questar III BOCES has appointed Brian Radewitz as the new director of communications, replacing Dan Sherman, who has accepted another role within the organization.

Radewitz previously served as a communications specialist for Questar III, working with the component districts, most recently Averill Park Central School District and Germantown Central School District. During his time in the role, he led robust communications efforts and helped school districts navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Radewitz has worked on social media campaigns, rebranding efforts, internal and external communications, newsletters, crisis communications, and more.

“I’m honored and excited to serve in this role for Questar III BOCES and the school districts of Columbia, Greene, and Rensselaer counties,” said Radewitz. “We have an outstanding, collaborative communications staff. I’m eager to continue growing our communications efforts while supporting the Questar III mission of ‘changing lives, realizing dreams, and doing together what can’t be done alone.’”

With over 15 years of communications experience, Radewitz is also an award-winning journalist. He started his professional career at the Register-Star and The Daily Mail newspapers and served as a publications manager for hibu. He attended the Taconic Hills Central School District before earning a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University. He currently resides in Greene County.

“As an organization, it is always wonderful when we can nurture talent and promote from within,” said Questar III Associate Superintendent Dr. James Niedermeier. “Brian’s dedication to school communications and his expertise will contribute to the continued success of our communications efforts for both Questar III and our component districts.”
