Offering games, activities, food and fun for the entire family — and raising more than $60,000 to help Capital Region children in need — Pioneer’s annual Grand Carnival returns this Saturday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pioneer Plaza, 652 Albany Shaker Road in Colonie.

Now in its fifth year, the signature event conducted by the Pioneer Charitable Foundation has raised more than $175,000 in total, with all funds supporting area nonprofit organizations that serve the health and welfare of local children, in line with the foundation’s mission of “Helping Kids be Kids.”

Held under a large tent at Pioneer’s headquarters, the Grand Carnival features family-friendly games, face and pumpkin painting, sand art, magic shows and a kids’ dance contest. In addition, radio station B95.5 FM will provide entertainment throughout the event.

Since its establishment in 2018, Pioneer’s Charitable Foundation has provided more than $1.6 million in support to over 400 Capital Region nonprofit organizations, along with well over 16,000 employee volunteer hours.
