Pioneer’s 6th Annual Mini Golf Tournament Surpasses $50,000 Fundraising Milestone

Nearly 100 business and community leaders come together to “be a kid for a day” in support of local
children

Albany, NY – The Pioneer Charitable Foundation celebrated a major milestone, surpassing $50,000
in total funds raised following its sixth annual Mini Golf Tournament, which brought in more than
$14,000 at this year’s event.

Held on Wednesday, June 3 at Pirate’s Hideout in Waterford, the tournament welcomed nearly 100
attendees, including Capital Region business leaders, community partners, and Pioneer volunteers.
Designed as a corporate team-building experience with a nostalgic twist, participants are invited to
“be a kid for a day” with 18 holes of mini golf, ice cream, a BBQ lunch, and childhood favorite snacks,
all while supporting Pioneer’s Charitable Foundation.

Funds raised through the Mini Golf Tournament directly support local nonprofit organizations that
serve children and families across the Capital Region. With Pioneer covering all administrative and
operational costs of the Foundation, every dollar raised goes back into the community, helping
expand access to critical programs, resources, and opportunities for local youth.

“Reaching this milestone is a testament to what’s possible when our community comes together in a
fun, meaningful way,” said Susan Hollister, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources
Officer and Co-Chair of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation. “The enthusiasm of local organizations to
participate in a unique, team-building focused event has allowed us to support local nonprofits
delivering critical programs for children and families.”

Since 2019, the Mini Golf Tournament has become one of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation’s
signature events. All funds raised through the Foundation directly benefit local organizations aligned
with its mission of “helping kids be kids”. Since its inception, the Foundation has contributed more
than $2 million to over 400 local nonprofits.
