National Bank of Coxsackie donates $5,000 to Athens Volunteer Fire Department

Coxsackie, NY – [January 2026] – National Bank of Coxsackie (NBC) is proud to announce its recent $5,000 donation to the Athens Volunteer Fire Department. The funds were made possible through the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY), which enables member banks like NBC to support local organizations that enhance public safety and strengthen the communities they serve.

The Athens Volunteer Fire Department provides essential emergency response services to the Village and Town of Athens, protecting residents, businesses, and visitors through fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency medical response. This donation will support the Department’s ongoing efforts to equip its volunteers with critical tools and resources needed to respond safely and efficiently to emergency situations.

“The Athens Volunteer Fire Department would like to sincerely thank the National Bank of Coxsackie for their very generous donation of $5,000,” said the Athens Volunteer Fire Department. “Your support is greatly appreciated and will be used to purchase new flashlights and fire pagers to help alert our members of emergency calls, improving both safety and response capabilities. Donations such as yours make a meaningful difference in our ability to serve and protect the Athens community.”

“NBC is proud to support the Athens Volunteer Fire Department and the dedicated volunteers who selflessly serve their community,” said John Balli, President & CEO of the National Bank of Coxsackie. “First responders play a vital role in keeping our communities safe, and we are honored to support their mission through this FHLB grant.”

Founded in 1852, the National Bank of Coxsackie has been serving the Capital Region and Hudson Valley for over 170 years, offering a full range of personal and business banking products and services. NBC remains committed to strengthening the communities it serves through financial support, volunteerism, and partnership. The bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of NBC Bancorp, Inc. (OTCPK: NCXS).
