KIPP Tech Valley Middle School Scholars Greeted by Community Members to Kick Off School Year
Albany, NY – On the first two days of the 2024-2025 school year, KIPP Tech Valley Middle School (KTVMS) leaders organized events for students to be greeted by over 140 men and women from throughout the Capital Region community. This included elected officials, board members, families, members of the faith community, Divine Nine Sororities and Fraternities among other community members.The initiative, held at KIPP Tech Valley Middle School on August 26 and 27, aimed to encourage students as they were welcomed back to school and build relationships with community stakeholders.
KTVMS Principal Dr. Darryl White is passionate about efforts that prioritize family and community engagement and support scholars in the classroom and beyond. At KTVMS, he has spearheaded initiatives geared towards father figures in students’ lives and working together as a village to support KIPP scholars and families.
