Hacker Murphy Welcomes Anthony "AJ" Leandro as New Law Clerk

Albany, NY – April 24, 2025 — The law firm of Hacker Murphy, LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Anthony “AJ” Leandro as its newest law clerk. A third-year student at Albany Law School, AJ brings a strong academic background and a passion for both litigation and business/commercial law to the firm.

A native of Middletown, NJ, Leandro graduated from Rutgers University, where he majored in Political Science with a minor in Labor Studies. He is an active member of Albany Law’s rugby and golf teams, experiences he credits with shaping his approach to teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. He is set to graduate in May and will sit for the New York State Bar Examination in July. Following successful admission to the Bar, he will officially join Hacker Murphy full-time as an associate attorney.

“We are excited to welcome AJ to the team,” said James Hacker, Managing Partner at Hacker Murphy. “His enthusiasm for the law and drive for excellence align perfectly with our firm’s values. We look forward to supporting his continued professional development and witnessing the contributions he will make to our clients and practice.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining a firm like Hacker Murphy, where I can learn from experienced litigators while contributing to meaningful work,” said Leandro. “My long-term goal is to become a trusted legal advisor to businesses, and this opportunity allows me to grow in both commercial and personal injury practice areas under strong mentorship. I’m especially grateful to be doing that here in Albany—a place that has come to feel like home.”

Leandro is currently pursuing a concentration in business law, complementing his litigation interests with a foundation in commercial legal strategy.

Hacker Murphy, LLP is committed to mentoring the next generation of legal talent and is proud to offer a supportive and challenging environment for Leandro to launch his legal career.
