Dog Days of Summer Brings Together Craft Beer, Canine Companions, and Community Support on August 8

Dog Days of Summer Brings Together Craft Beer, Canine Companions, and Community Support on August 8

MENANDS — The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS), Fiddlehead Brewing Company, and Lionheart on the Green invite the community to celebrate summer with an afternoon of craft beer, canine companions, and community spirit at Dog Days of Summer on Saturday, August 8, from 12 to 5 p.m. All well-behaved, people- and dog-friendly dogs on leash are welcome to attend with their humans.

The event will take place at Lionheart on the Green, 952 Broadway in Albany, where guests can enjoy refreshing Fiddlehead beer while supporting animals in need. Throughout the event, $1 from every Fiddlehead beer sold will be donated to MHHS to help provide shelter, medical care, enrichment, and second chances for homeless animals.

“At Fiddlehead Brewing Company, we believe strong communities are built by people who care for one another, and that includes our animals. We’re proud to support the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and their incredible work providing shelter, compassion, and second chances. Giving back is part of who we are, and we’re honored to help make a difference,” said Jonathan Van Sickle, Fiddlehead market manager.

Guests are also encouraged to bring a donation of dry cat or dog food for MHHS's Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry, which helps local families keep their beloved pets fed and in their homes. Last year alone, the pantry distributed more than 80,000 meals to pets throughout the Capital Region.

"Dog Days of Summer is a perfect example of what happens when local businesses and animal lovers come together for a great cause," said Ashley Jeffrey Bouck, president and CEO of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. "We're incredibly grateful to Lionheart on the Green and Fiddlehead Brewing Company for turning a summer afternoon into an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for animals and the people who love them."

Whether you're stopping by for a pint, donating pet food, or simply enjoying the afternoon with your four-legged best friend, every visit helps provide hope, care, and second chances for animals across our community.

Admission is free. For more information, contact MHHS at [email protected].
