Career Jam Launch Brings Career Exploration to 10th - 12th Grade Students



WHAT: Nearly 1,000 students are expected to attend Career Jam Launch, an exciting career exploration
event geared towards students in grades 10th - 12th. Students will learn about local career pathways
from the region’s leading employers, experience a variety of industries through interactive
demonstrations, and learn about direct entry opportunities such as internships, work-based learning,
part- and full-time employment, and seasonal positions.

The Career Jam Launch Event will feature:
● Career Exploration for Students: Close to 1,000 students at this event that will imagine the
possibilities for their future careers.
● High-Energy Prep-Rally: Check out our engaging prep-rally, led by Ten80 Education in
collaboration with DJ Intell Hayfield, for an experience that makes career exploration fun and
prepares the students to interact with employers and think about their future.
● Industry-Led Demonstrations: More than 40 employers will engage with students in hands-on
interactive demonstrations and share about the career pathways within their industry.
Companies from all 16 career clusters will be represented.
● SUNY SCCC’s Mobile Training Units: Get a firsthand look at the cutting-edge tools and resources
offered through SUNY Schenectady’s mobile training units, one set up for Advanced
Manufacturing and the other for Healthcare.

WHEN: Thursday, May 30, 2024
8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: SUNY Schenectady County Community College
78 Washington Ave, Schenectady, NY

WHO: Teachers and students from several school districts, including 800 students from
Schenectady High School.
Members of the press and community stakeholders are invited to view this exciting
event, tour the SUNY Schenectady Mobile Training Units and learn more about Career Jam experiences
and involvement.

Please arrive by 10:00am to participate in the full program.
