Author Karyn Parsons Visits KIPP Capital Region Middle Schools
Last week, KIPP Tech Valley Middle School and KIPP Albany Community Middle School hosted a visit with successful publisher and author, Karyn Parsons. Karyn, who is known for playing Hilary Banks in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” , shared her story about what led her to becoming an author. She also read a section of her book and took questions from inquisitive KIPPsters.
The visits were sponsored by the New York State Writers Institute through The Carl E. Touhey Foundation. In addition to helping KIPP scholars to create meaningful memories, the valuable support of the NYS Writers Institute ensured each student received a personalized copy of Karyn’s book.
