Pioneer Strengthens Plans to Grow Insurance and Benefits Divisions, Names Todd Shepersky as Vice President and Insurance Agency Manager

Albany, NY – Pioneer, a leading financial institution in New York’s Capital Region, today announced the appointment of Todd Shepersky as Vice President and Insurance Agency Manager. In that newly created role, he will oversee Pioneer’s Insurance and Benefits Divisions and lead efforts to grow those lines of business, further broadening Pioneer’s recognition as “More Than a Bank.”

A respected industry professional with two decades of leadership, agency, and underwriting experience, Shepersky was most recently with Fortune 500 company American National.  His background includes a variety of roles focused primarily on commercial and agricultural lines of business.

“The appointment of Todd Shepersky is an important investment in further building Pioneer’s Insurance and Benefits Divisions,” said Pioneer President and CEO Tom Amell. “We see great value, to our customers and our organization, in expanding our portfolio of financial products and services. Guided by Todd’s leadership experience and record of success, we look forward to offering additional resources and pursuing acquisition opportunities to grow both our insurance and benefits lines of business.”

Prior to joining Pioneer, Shepersky spent the past 13 years at American National, working in its Glenmont, NY and Beaverton, OR offices. Most recently, he served as Manager of the New England/Large Account Underwriting and Risk Services teams. Previous roles included Agency Manager, Commercial/Agricultural Underwriting Manager, and Commercial/Agricultural Underwriter.  Before that, Shepersky held roles as an Agent and Senior Commercial Agricultural Specialist with Farm Bureau Financial Services.

“I am thrilled to join an organization that is firmly focused on serving the best interests of its clients and its community,” said Shepersky. “I’m inspired by Pioneer’s strong commitment to growing its Insurance and Benefits Divisions, and excited to provide commercial customers with access to expertise, resources, products, and services that support their critical investments.”

A resident of Albany, Shepersky received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Washington State University and earned his master’s in insurance management at Columbia University.
