Position Summary:

Martin Electric is seeking a self-motivated, high-performing Senior Electrical Estimator to help lead our preconstruction efforts and strategically position projects for successful execution.

This role is far more than performing takeoffs.

The Senior Electrical Estimator plays a critical role in:

· Shaping project strategy

· Identifying risk

· Developing execution plans,

· Supporting prefabrication and BIM initiatives

· Building client confidence

· And helping secure the right work for our teams.

The ideal candidate understands both the technical and operational sides of electrical construction and can think beyond the drawings to evaluate schedule, logistics, labor strategy, constructability, and overall project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Preconstruction & Estimating Leadership

· Develop complete and accurate electrical estimates, budgets, conceptual pricing, and proposals

· Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements to identify risk and opportunity

· Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and scope analysis

· Lead bid strategy discussions and estimate reviews

Operational & Strategic Thinking

· Evaluate constructability, labor strategy, site logistics, manpower loading, and schedule feasibility

· Support prefabrication, BIM/VDC coordination, and installation planning during preconstruction

· Identify long-lead procurement concerns and schedule constraints early in the pursuit process

· Analyze project delivery methods and recommend execution strategies aligned with company strengths

Client & Relationship Management

· Participate in client meetings, bid walks, preconstruction meetings, and scope reviews

· Help build trust and confidence with clients, trade partners, and internal teams

· Support negotiated work and strategic client relationships

Team Collaboration

· Work closely with Operations, Project Management, Field Leadership, BIM/VDC, and Purchasing teams

· Support turnover and transition from estimating to operations through organized project handoff meetings and documentation

· Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems, standards, and processes

Qualifications:

Experience

· 10+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction

· A minimum of 2 years’ field experience STRONGLY preferred (Union or Nonunion work)

· Experience with complex electrical systems, industrial/process work, or large commercial projects preferred

Technical Skills

· Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid or ConEst

· Strong understanding of Bluebeam and digital plan review workflows

· Strong knowledge of NEC and local codes

· Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and specifications

· Familiarity with BIM/VDC coordination and construction technology

· Understanding of labor productivity, means and methods, and construction sequencing

· Strong Microsoft Office skills

Compensation & Benefits:

· Base Salary Range: $125,000-$185,000 based on experience and qualifications
