City of Troy Launches Campaign to Promote Face Mask Use to Limit Spread of COVID-19



Mayor Patrick Madden today announced the launch of a local campaign to remind Troy residents to wear face masks in public to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and support a safe reopening of Troy & the Capital Region. The citywide effort features Troy business owners, local officials, neighborhood leaders, and Troy families wearing masks and delivering a message to encourage their neighbors, family, and friends to follow health protocols for face coverings & social distancing.

Woodland Hill Montessori School Welcomes New Head of School



Woodland Hill Montessori School’s Board of Trustees has announced that it has named Michelle Edwards as the new Head of School, effective July 1, 2020. Michelle has served as Assistant Head of School for the past four years and played a critical role in the establishment of the Toddler program at WHMS in 2012. Michelle will succeed Susan Kambrich, Ed.D., who has served as Head of School for 20 years and announced in January that she would be stepping down at the end of the academic year.  

CAP COM DONATES $15,000 TO St. Peter's Health Partners for Personal Protective Equipment



CAP COM Federal Credit Union has announced a $15,000 donation to St. Peter’s Health Partners. The donation will be used to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) for the hospital’s frontline workers, and follows a large gift of masks to the hospital last month. As an annual spring luncheon hosted by the financial services arm of the credit union was cancelled due to COVID-19, event expenses are being redirected to this gift.

STRIDE Adaptive Sports 'Adapts' to COVID-19 Crisis with Virtual Summer Fitness Event



Starting now and hitting the finish line on June 20th, STRIDE Adaptive Sports is helping people around the Capital Region to stride toward an empowering response to the COVID-19 crisis. According to STRIDE founder and CEO, Mary Ellen Whitney, the organization will be holding a virtual event where both people with disabilities and the able-bodied can run, walk, or roll their way toward fitness and health while social distancing.

SBA and Treasury Release Paycheck Protection Program Loan Forgiveness Application



The U.S. Small Business Administration, in consultation with the U.S Department of the Treasury, released the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan Forgiveness Application and detailed instructions for the application. 

The form and instructions inform borrowers how to apply for forgiveness of their PPP loans, consistent with the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).  SBA will also soon issue regulations and guidance to further assist borrowers as they complete their applications, and to provide lenders with guidance on their responsibilities.
