Vanderheyden Opens Paula's Place In Honor of Paula Stopera
Wynantskill, NY - Paula had a long and distinguished careers in the Capital District with a 15 year tenure as President and CEO of CAP COM Federal Credit Union and was the founder of the CAP COM Cares Foundation. She retired in 201 but continued to support Vanderheyden and several other non-profit agencies. With her support and permission, the first Paula's Place started to take shape at Vanderheyden. It would be a place for our individuals to enjoy a peaceful room to play games, watch a movie and visit with their families. She picked out the paint color, the flooring, the couches - just like her own living room. We were so sad when she passed award in July and was not able to see the project complete. However, with many local donors the project continued with her daughter Amanda Goyer.
Paula's Place was officially opened and Paula's legacy was honored on Wednesday, December 8.
