Unity House Extends Community Resources Hours to Include One Saturday Each Month
In an effort to reach members of the community who may need access to its Community Resources services and are unable to do so on weekdays, Unity House is now offering extended hours one Saturday a month at its 2431 Sixth Ave. headquarters.
The Community Resources program, previously called Street Ministry, provides crisis intervention; counseling; emergency food, clothing and housewares; homelessness prevention; pregnancy care; and holiday food baskets and gifts to members of the community, all at no cost. Unity House’s Family and Neighborhood Resource Center offers a wide variety of programs dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable people. The program helps individuals and families secure basic resources like food, clothing and shelter.
The new Saturday hours for 2018 are May 18, June 30, July 28, August 25, September 29, October 27, November 17 and December 15. On those dates, Unity House’s Community Meals program will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the Food Pantry and the ReStyle thrift store will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
