Troy Officials Issue Traffic Advisory for Northern Drive

Northern Drive in the City of Troy will be closed beginning July 19 to allow for the continued operations associated with the City’s water line transmission replacement project.

Beginning Wednesday, July 19, Northern Drive between 5th Avenue and 8th Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning 7:00 a.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m. Work is expected to continue Monday through Friday until the work is completed. Road closures are necessary to allow for operations to install a new 36-inch water main line which will expand and improve the City of Troy’s drinking water infrastructure network.

Notifications have been posted in the area of affected streets. Motorists are asked observe all posted traffic detours and to seek alternate routes at this time. Residential traffic will still be permitted and businesses in the vicinity of the work area remain open and accessible. Drivers are asked to use the posted detour on Gurley Avenue and 114th Street. Local emergency services have been notified of the traffic restrictions.
