Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C. Announces New Hires
Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C. (TBC) has recently hired its newest accounting staff member, Joseph Watroba, CPA. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree as well as his Master of Science in Accounting from Siena College in 2013. Prior to joining TBC, he was a senior tax accountant at another firm.
Outside of work, Joe and his family founded Play It Foreward 518, Inc., a nonprofit that raises funds that support Make-A-Wish NENY and The Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer at Albany Medical Center.
TBC has been affiliated with Play It Foreward 518, Inc. for several years through participating in the Organization’s annual golf event. Joe and his family established this special fund to support diversion activities for the children and their families that are receiving treatments at the Melodies Center during their time of need. Their work to date with hospital staff has allowed current patients to receive holiday meals, Halloween Costumes, tickets to shows at local venues including Proctors and the Palace Theatre and a Super Bowl Party Package.
“Joe is already a great addition to the firm. With his valuable experience and passion with his nonprofit endeavors, he brings great value and purpose. We were ecstatic to welcome him to our firm earlier this month,” said James Drislane, managing partner at TBC.
Alison Blessing, CPA, with over 20 years of leadership experience in public and private accounting has been named as the Firm’s third firm administrator in over 45 years. While Michele Auricchio is finishing her career pending a late June retirement, Blessing will learn the responsibilities and be poised to take the firm to new heights drawing specifically on her roles as a principal at another CPA firm.
Blessing graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Siena College. Before joining TBC, Blessing was most recently the Chief Financial Officer of The New York State School Boards Association. Her experience prior to that in public accounting includes performing audits, compliance audits, reviews, compilations, and attestation engagements for municipal, for-profit, and not-for-profit entities.
Blessing has also been involved with several affiliations outside of work. She was a previous board member and treasurer of The Food Pantries of the Capital District, and was also an At-Large Member of the New York State Government Finance Officers Association Board of Governors from 2012 to 2016, among other positions.
“With Alison’s great amount of previous experience in important roles such as this one, we believe she will be a great addition to the Firm,” said James Drislane, managing partner at TBC. “Her expertise and previous endeavors make us confident that Blessing is correct for this role.”
Of Auricchio’s service, Drislane and the shareholders commended her on the important role she served. “Michele came into the Firm Administrator role at the end of 2015 and was able to successfully scale out operations as our firm gained significant growth in revenue, clients, and employee count,” Drislane commented. “We wish her well during her retirement and are sad to see her go, but are forever indebted to her for so many tasks she accomplished in just two and a half years with us.”
