START Children's Center 5k Run/Walk

The START Children’s Center of Rensselaer County is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization. We provide services that reduce the trauma children endure due to being a victim of abuse, or a witness to violence. The Center is designed in a child-friendly manner that caters specifically to their needs. A focus is also placed on supporting the non-offending members of the victim’s family.

We are very involved in the local community. Our community involvement is accomplished through school presentations for staff, agency presentations, fundraising efforts, participation with different community committees, and hosting of bi-weekly START Meetings. The Center also has many student intern and volunteer opportunities.

The START Children's Center 5k will be held on April 28, 2018 at our soon to be new location at 127 Bloomingrove Drive, Troy, New York (behind the North Greenbush Police Department). There will also be a ribbon cutting and open house.

We are in need of sponsors for this event. If you are interested in being a sponsor yard signs with your name or company's name are available for $50.00 or we can add your name or your company's name to the back of the t-shirt that will be provided to race participants for $100.00. Please contact Alaina Finan, Board Member at [email protected].

If you are interested in participating in the event or making a donation you may do so at the following link: https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Troy/STARTChildrensCenter5k
