The Sage Colleges Named Among National Colleges of Distinction

The Sage Colleges has been recognized as a 2018-2019 College of Distinction. The Colleges of Distinction website and guidebook honors schools throughout the U.S. for excellence in undergraduate-focused higher education. To be accepted, schools must demonstrate excellence in four categories: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community and Successful Outcomes.

“We are extremely pleased by this external recognition, which highlights the strengths of The Sage Colleges, including our high-quality curriculum, close ties to the communities of Albany and Troy, and a commitment to teaching on a personal and human scale," said Sage President Christopher Ames.

Colleges of Distinction reviewed Sage’s first-year experience and retention efforts, general education programs, alumni success, strategic plan, student satisfaction and more. High-impact educational practices that incorporate service learning and civic engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, undergraduate research, capstone projects and internships helped Sage stand out for the honor from Colleges of Distinction.

Other recent accolades for Sage include recognition as a top graphic design school by the magazine Graphic Design USA, and ranking in the top five online programs in New York by the website www.thebestcolleges.org.
