500 PET CHALLENGE CELEBRATION IS FOR PEOPLE AND PETS
Menands – As a conclusion to its month-long 500 Pet Challenge fundraising campaign, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS) is holding a community celebration on Sunday, August 4, from noon to 4:00 pm at its 3 Oakland Avenue Animal Care Center.
The campaign was named for the more than 500 pets the Humane Society will have cared for in the month of July. It is a free event for families and their dogs, featuring live music by S.R.O. band, vendors, food and activities for kids. The public is invited to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy music and activities on the society’s greenspace. There will be paw painting and kiddie pools for dogs. Those looking for a new companion can visit available pets and receive reduced adoption fees. Donations of dry cat and dog food for the Society’s Pet Food Pantry will be greatly appreciated.
Pet- and people-friendly dogs that are current on shots are welcome. For more information visit mohawkhumane.org or the Society’s Facebook page @mohawkhumane.
