Phinney Design Group Hosts Grand Opening of Troy Office
One of the Capital Region's premiere architecture and design firms celebrates expansion into Rensselaer County
TROY, NY - On October 2, Phinney Design Group hosted a grand opening celebration for its new office space in a historic storefront at 291 River Street. Local elected officials were present to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was hosted by the firm's owner, Michael Phinney and Troy Office Director, Edwin Anker.
The PDG team was in attendance to offer tours of the office, which is located in what was once Butler's General Store. During the renovation and restoration of the space, workers discovered and preserved a tile mosaic that honors the building's place in Troy's rich history. The mosaic now occupies a central place in the office.
Phinney Design Group, originally based solely in Saratoga Springs, recognized the need in Rensselaer and Albany Counties for services tailored to businesses and individuals seeking client-focused, sustainable architecture and interior design. The Troy Office opened its doors in July and is now actively serving local clients.
"Our focus is on creating connections with our clients, both existing and in the future," said Michael Phinney, "Opening an office in downtown Troy allows us to work more closely with those clients as a team, which results in the creation of spaces that are meaningful and representative of those clients' vision."
"We're very excited to welcome Phinney Design Group to Troy," said Kate Manley, President of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce. "Their unique architectural expertise will prove to be a valuable resource to all of Rensselaer County and we wish them continued success."
