Old World Provisions plans for $4 Million addition in Troy

Old World Provisions Inc. will build a $4 million addition at its meat processing plant off Campbell Avenue in Troy and expects to hire nearly 100 workers over the next three years. The family-owned, fourth-generation company is expanding its product line to reflect consumer interest in healthier meats and in ecologically friendly options, such as plant-blended foods.

The roughly 14,000-square-foot addition will be built next to the processing plant at 12 Industrial Park Road. Construction will start next year. Old World Provisions has 52 employees.

The Troy Industrial Development Agency last month approved $270,000 in estimated sales tax exemptions, $30,000 in mortgage recording tax exemption, and a 10-year payment in lieu of taxes that will save the company about $425,000 in property taxes. The business is owned by Shuket family.
