New York-Penn League Champion ValleyCats Announce 2019 Regular Season Schedule

The Tri-City ValleyCats, a Class A minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros, announced their 2019 regular season schedule on Thursday. The ValleyCats will defend their New York-Penn League championship crown against affiliates of the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Orioles, Nationals, Rays, Marlins, Athletics, Cardinals and Tigers.

The 18th Opening Day at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium will take place on Sunday, June 16, the start of a two game series versus the Staten Island Yankees, an affiliate of the New York Yankees. Staten Island returns to “The Joe” later in the season for a three game set on August 25-27.

Highlights of the ValleyCats’ 2019 home slate include a 4th of July - Independence Day matchup with the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay Rays), a rematch of the 2018 New York-Penn League Championship Series. The ValleyCats host the Renegades again on August 22-23.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets) come to town on July 7-9 to kick off a six game homestand for the ValleyCats, their longest of the season, capped off with three games versus the State College Spikes (St. Louis Cardinals) on July 10-12.

Tri-City welcomes their Stedler Division foe Lowell Spinners to Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on July 17-19 for the first series of the season versus the Red Sox affiliate. Lowell returns on August 5-7 for a second three game set.

To conclude their 2019 season, the ValleyCats will host a Labor Day weekend series at home against the Vermont Lake Monsters (Oakland Athletics), August 31-September 2.

The complete 2019 season schedule is available online at tcvalleycats.com. Season tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased by calling the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium box office at 518-629-CATS.

In 2018 the ValleyCats drew 140,036 fans to Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, an average attendance of 4,119 fans per game, second best among the 14 teams in the New York-Penn League. On the field, the ValleyCats captured their third New York-Penn League championship.
