New Grant Opportunities at the Arts Center of the Capital Region September 15-December 17, 2021
TROY (09/16/2021)—The Arts Center of the Capital Region is pleased to announce two new grant opportunities this fall. Nonprofits, or artists with a nonprofit sponsor, located in Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady Counties are eligible to apply for the Restart New York Regrant program and the Statewide Community Regrants program (formerly known as Decentralization/DEC). These grant opportunities are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
Restart New York Regrant
Application Period: 9/15/2021-10/27/2021
Awards: $2,600 per award

Restart NY Regrants, offered as part of NYSCA’s Recovery Fund Initiative, are intended to support the return of live performances and in-person events. Eligible projects must be located in Albany, Rensselaer, or Schenectady Counties, occur between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022, and feature live performance or a public presentation.
Statewide Community Regrants (formerly known as DEC)
Application Period: 10/1/2021-12/17/2021
Awards: $2,500-$5,000 per award

The SCR program enables emerging nonprofit organizations and artists to grow professionally and to enhance the cultural climate in communities and neighborhoods where they live and operate. Funds are available for projects ranging from public art, theater, performance, arts education, and more.
SCR funds are administered by the Arts Center of the Capital Region for Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady Counties. Three grant types are available. These include Community Arts Grant (Up to $5000), Arts in Education Grant (Up to $2500), and Individual Artist Grant ($2,500 per award). Projects must take place April 1st 2022 – June 30st 2023.
New applicants are required to attend a grant seminar prior to submitting an Intent to Apply. These seminars introduce new applicants to the SCR Regrant Program followed by a Q&A session.
