Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County Announces 4th Annual SCRABBLE Challenge



Troy, N.Y.: On Sunday, February 18, 2018, Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County will hold the SCRABBLE Challenge at St. Michael’s Church Hall, 175 Williams Road, Troy, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., with prizes for first, second and third-place winners. Three non-traditional SCRABBLE games will be played and the winners will be the teams who score the most total points. There will be side contests of trivia, raffle items, and refreshments for all. Advance registration for teams of two to four players is $15 per person ($10 for students under 18) or $60 for a team of 4. Teams provide boards and tiles. All proceeds from this event will help LVORC offer free literacy services to adults, including tutoring in reading and writing, English as a second language, and HS equivalency preparation.
