Linda Hillman Joins Pierce Communications As Executive Advisor

Linda Hillman, former longtime president of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, has joined Pierce Communications as the firm's executive advisor.

In her new role, Hillman will participate in the firm's business and relationship development and provide senior level counsel to clients on issues ranging from government affairs, economic development and community relations to executive leadership.

"Our mission is to do great work for great people and organizations and have a great time doing it with great people. Having Linda on the Pierce team will mean more of all four of those," said Jonathan M. Pierce, APR, Pierce Communications' president.

Hillman served as president of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce for 15 years before stepping down in December 2015. Under her leadership, in 2006 the Chamber was named as "One of the Top Three Chambers" of its size in the nation by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE).

Prior to joining the Chamber, she was vice president of public relations/marketing & sales for Empire Corporate Federal Credit Union. Earlier, she served as vice president of membership at the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Hillman's extensive community involvement includes service as a board member of Tech Valley Connect and Troy 2020 and as a member of the Business Alliance for Tech Valley High School and the Forum for Executive Women of the Capital Region. She is a founding member of the Tech Valley Chamber Coalition and past board member of The Arts Center of the Capital Region, Key Bank Advisory Board, the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District, Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, March of Dimes, Chamber Alliance of New York State, and the National Association of Membership Development. She has also volunteered with WMHT's Great TV Auction, the Albany Institute of History & Art and the American Cancer Society.

"Joining the Pierce team is a great opportunity for me to apply my talents in the community and work with seasoned professionals who understand what organizations need to grow. They focus on providing strategic counsel to help their clients and that appeals to me and my desire to help organizations prosper," said Hillman.

Hillman is a graduate of the University at Albany and the Capital Leadership program. She resides in Clifton Park with her husband, Dr. Mark Hillman.
