Howard Gross Named Albany Best Buddies Champion of the Year



eBizDocs, a premier electronic content solutions provider, announced its CEO and founder, Howard Gross, received the 2019 Albany Best Buddies Champion of the Year Award. The Champion of the Year competition is an annual 12-week fundraising event that promotes the mission of Best Buddies and its programs.

These programs empower the special abilities of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.

Champion of the Year unites and recognizes the community’s most active leaders in the name of inclusion. “This year we had 5 Champions raising funds and awareness for Best Buddies. We exceeded all our goals and Mr. Gross won this year’s competition by personally raising over $10,000,” said Heidi Barcomb, Best Buddies Director for the Albany area. Raised funds directly support Best Buddies programs and general donations can be made here.

“Through Best Buddies, thousands of people with disabilities have successfully moved from segregation and desolation to a new acceptance in their family and community,” said Howard Gross, President and CEO, eBizDocs. “In turn, Best Buddies creates a new spirit of public service for thousands of middle school, high school and college volunteers that will last a lifetime.”

Gross founded eBizDocs in 1999 and built the company with the vision of offering employees an opportunity to show what they can do. It worked! New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID) recognized eBizDocs as its Corporate Partner of the Year, citing its inclusive business culture that pairs workers, whether with hearing impairments, physical and mental health challenges, with the right job. Staying true to its vision, eBizDocs newest team member is a Best Buddies participant.
