FENCE Select & Student Exhibit 2021

TROY (10/27/2021)—The Arts Center of the Capital Region would like to announce and congratulate this year’s FENCE Select artists and winners.

Artists chosen for this year’s Select exhibit include:

This year’s Best in Show artist is Susan Hoffer with her work titled “A new blank tablet: January 20, 2021 12:00 PM EST.” Our Runner Up artist is Royal Brown with his artwork titled “Yemonja.” Both artists received a cash stipend at our September award ceremony. Hoffer will also receive a solo exhibition in one of The Arts Center galleries. The FENCE Select awards support artists of all levels of experience and are made possible through the generous support of E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy LLP.

We would like to thank this year’s FENCE Select Juror Dan Cameron, a New York based curator, writer, and educator, for choosing this year’s Select works. Cameron chose approximately 50 pieces of art for FENCE Select including our Best in Show and Runner Up artists. FENCE Select will remain on display through December 11th.

New to this year’s exhibition, The Arts Center would like to welcome Fence Student work to our Foyer Gallery during the months of November & December during our Fence Select Exhibition.  Students K-12 are welcome to enter the show either as part of their school or as individuals with a student membership valid through December 10, 2021. Schools are permitted to enter up to five student works for an entry fee of $50 per school. Please see our website for new and renewal memberships and for drop off dates and time:
