Explore the Local Digital Game Business Cluster at “The Business of Digital Games” March 7 at Tech Valley Center of Gravity

Tech Valley Center of Gravity in Troy will host an exploration of the depth and breadth of the digital game ecosystem in the Tech Valley at a workshop it is hosting on Wednesday, March 7 from 1 to 7 pm. Participants will learn about the companies included in this ecosystem, what they do and who they work with and how during a panel discussion featuring executives from the companies. A keynote address will dig deeper into the growth and development of one successful business. Breakout sessions will feature targeted discussion on creative, technical and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The event will end with a networking reception featuring food, drink and opportunities for direct conversation with staff from companies in the industry, followed by a presentation on “The Intersection of Digital and Media Art” by NYS Council on the Arts Program Director for Electronic Media & Film|Visual Arts Karen Helmerson.

Industry companies participating include 1st Playable, Catapult Games, MadGlory, Velan Studios and Vicarious Visions. They will be joined by representatives from Tech Valley Game Space and the International Game Designers Association. Financial support for the program is provided by Center for Economic Growth, Heslin Rothenberg Farley and Mesiti, and Innovate 518.
