ABOUT THIS YEARS SHOW:
Hideaway Circus (2020 Drama Desk nominees) presents a new outdoor theatrical circus show titled The Stars Above. Featuring a cast of ten outstanding circus artists and two musicians, The Stars Above is an emotional and poetic journey told through virtuosic acrobatic, dramatic choreography, and accompanied by original live music. The show centers around a traveling troupe and takes place over a single day, on an imaginary circus lot, in a timeless yet familiar era. The underlying metaphorical themes explore the connections to our friends, loved ones, community, and the things we have lost. The cast of The Stars Above is entirely composed of American circus artists ranging from 6th generation circus acts with skills passed down through their families, to other artists who are highly gifted individuals that have graduated from the top circus schools.

ABOUT CIRCUS IN THE PARK
Circus in the Park is Troy's annual community circus experience, featuring shows that focus on extraordinary human potential through story-telling, movement, dance, and music. Animals are not included in Circus in the Park performances. Grass seating is free, inviting, and abundant. Ticketed seats in a reserved area help CCIAC cover the show's expenses.
Every year, a unique circus show is performed for several evenings against the lush backdrop of Troy’s Prospect Park and the night-time sparkle of the city below. All are invited to experience the jaw-dropping magic of circus.
Circus in the Park 2021 is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Grant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Arts Center of the Capital Region.
