Two regional economic development organizations — the Center for Economic Growth and the Upstate Alliance for the Creative Economy — will merge.
The organizations have already been working together on several initiatives, including a regional identity branding effort with marketing firms Fingerpaint and Overit. And they started a roundtable tour last year to bring together business and community leaders and creative economy workers.
The Center for Economic Growth is a nonprofit that was founded in 1987 to oversee economic development for the Albany area.
The Upstate Alliance for the Creative Economy, known as ACE, was formed in 2016 to advocate for and grow the creative economy in the Albany region. The organization has more than 30 sponsors and investors.
Andrew Kennedy is the CEO of the Center for Economic Growth, and Maureen Sager is the executive director of ACE.
