Catholic School Administrators Association of New York State 50th Anniversary
Founded in 1972, the Catholic School Administrators Association of New York State (CSAANYS) will mark its fiftieth anniversary this year. Organized under the leadership of Brother Peter Pontilillo, a Marianist Brother from Long Island, and Brother Thomas Draney, a Christian Brother from New York City, CSAANYS is the only organization of its kind in any state to articulate the distinct voice and promote the professional and personal betterment of the Catholic school administrator.
Currently CSAANYS serves the 424 Catholic schools, affecting some 180,000 students and since its founding has served thousands of New York’s Catholic administrators. Each month throughout the year, CSAANYS will have events to mark the founding, culminating in a gala event in November. Check out the CSAANYS website www.csaanys.org for timelines and photos highlighting the history of CSAANYS and Catholic education in NYS.
