Carlo Fusco joins Pioneer as Vice President - Commercial Relationship Manager

Pioneer announced today the appointment of Carlo Fusco as Vice President – Commercial Relationship Manager for its commercial banking division.

Fusco joins Pioneer from JPMorgan Chase in Albany, where he served as Vice President of Commercial Banking in their Middle Market division. During his tenure at JPMorgan Chase, Fusco was successful in growing the bank’s business in the Greater Capital Region by deepening existing client relationships and bringing new clients into the portfolio.  Additionally, he recently helped lead the delivery of the PPP Loan process for the Northeast.  Fusco previously held retail banking, underwriting, and commercial loan administration positions at SEFCU and First Niagara Bank.

Fusco will play a vital role in providing value to Pioneer’s existing commercial client base while also bringing new relationships to Pioneer. He will work closely with Pioneer’s credit team, now under the leadership of Rob Nichols, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, who joined Pioneer from KeyBank in 2019, as well as Pioneer’s existing commercial team under the leadership of Jesse Tomczak.

“Carlo has an excellent reputation in the local market, and he brings a great deal of experience in commercial banking to Pioneer,” said Jesse Tomczak, Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer at Pioneer. “He will be a great addition to our growing commercial team that continues to build strong relationships and deliver exceptional results for our customers.”

In addition to expanding its commercial team by investing in the region’s top talent, Pioneer also continues to develop a full suite of products and services to help streamline financial product portfolios for businesses, including cash and risk management, debt and equity capital, treasury management, investment services, insurance, and employee benefits.

“Pioneer has a long established history in the market as a respected commercial bank and I’m excited to join an organization that not only has such a great reputation and forward momentum but also a client and employee focused culture that is second to none,” said Fusco. “I look forward to utilizing my experience in commercial banking to help further grow the Bank’s business and provide outstanding service to Pioneer’s commercial customer base.”

Fusco earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania in 2006, and an MBA from The College of Saint Rose in 2010. He is an active volunteer with Northeast Career Planning, where he serves as President of its Board of Director, and also serves as vice chair for the Board of Directors for Unity House in Troy.
