Anne Saile Named Resourceful Woman of the Year at YWCA-GCR Annual Luncheon



On Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Inc. will proudly host its 18th Annual Resourceful Women's Awards Luncheon Presented by Groff Networks at the Hilton Garden Inn, Troy, NY. Last year’s event was our biggest and most successful event ever! More than 460 people joined us in honoring Sabrina Mosseau, BS, RN, OCN, clinical sales specialist with Genentech Corporation as the 2016 17thAnnual Resourceful Woman of the Year along with 18 other amazing Women and Young Girls On A Mission who strive to make a positive change in the lives of others in their communities including their work to advance the empowerment of women and girls. Last year’s event nearly $50,000, a record-breaking $12,000 over the year before, and we look forward to exceeding that success this year. Our fundraising goal for the 18th Resourceful Women’s Award Luncheon is $100,000 and we know with your support we can bring this to fruition.

It is our distinct pleasure and honor to announce that Anne Saile, Owner of The Saile Group, will be honored as the 2017 Resourceful Woman of the Year. Anne Saile is an author, speaker, strategist and an entrepreneur, who is best known for her business acumen and her passion for advancing women’s rights. She is the owner of The Saile Group, LLC, where she coaches executives and boards to achieve high impact results.

Saile served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bellevue Woman’s Hospital for nearly a decade leading the once financially distressed hospital into financial success. Bellevue was one of only two non-profit, independent hospitals for women in the nation. During her tenure at Bellevue, Saile became one of the most widely recognized representatives for the healthcare needs of women and newborns. In this capacity, Saile and Bellevue received numerous awards, was recognized by governors, the NYS legislature and garnered national and international recognition for innovation and commitment to high quality and accessible women’s healthcare.

Before joining Bellevue, Saile was the Executive Director of the New York State Office of Professional and Medical Conduct, charged with oversight of investigations and prosecutions of physician and physician assistant misconduct. She was commended for creating a program recognized as a model for the nation. She previously served as Vice President for the Center for the Disabled of the Capital District.

Saile is a philanthropist who has raised millions of dollars for organizations and causes she is passionate about. She has extensive experience serving on numerous boards, including as a founding member of the Forum for Executive Women of the Capital Region, the American Heart Association, the Center for Women in Government and Civil Society, The Center For Economic Growth, and the Health Care Advisory Board in Washington D.C. She is the Founding Chair of the [email protected] Advisory Board for the Hearst Corporation and served as a Chair for the Women's Presidents Organization Albany Chapter for over six years.

Anne has spoken nationally on high impact leadership, effective business models, ethics, challenges for women in the workplace, emerging health care issues, women’s health care, strategic networking and creating an executive presence. Anne serves as a national and international consultant on organizational transitions, effective leadership, succession planning and board development.

She is a graduate of Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. She studied public health issues at Oxford University’s Center for Human Rights and Responsibilities in England and was an invited participant at the International Symposium on Telemedicine at Harvard University. Anne is a widely recognized advocate for women's rights and a philanthropist, raising millions of dollars for organizations for which she is passionate about truly eptimotize what it means to be an empowering Resourceful Woman.

The Resourceful Women’s Awards were established in 2000, to recognize and honor those whose community and professional pursuits advance the empowerment of women, a core value of our mission, which is dedicated to Eliminating Racism, Empowering Women and Promoting Peace, Justice, Freedom and Dignity for All!

YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Inc.'s fundraisers are some of the largest special events in the Greater Capital Region, and are true community affairs. This event is a great chance to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and network with business owners, patrons and elected officials while honoring empowering Resourceful Women and Young Girls ON A Mission. Your support will contribute to the sustainability of YWCA-GCR’s services and programs. As one of the area’s largest providers of supportive housing to both homeless single women and women with children, YWCA-GCR provides safe, affordable and supportive housing to 104 women and over 50 children on any given day!

In addition to honoring Anne Saile, we will honor the Woman of Inspiration, 16 Resourceful Award honorees and NEW this year, Community Partners. In honor of the Centennial Celebration of Women’s Suffragist in NYS, we will recognize a local avid woman supporter’s late great-great grandmother; a dedicated suffragist, philanthropist, feminist and education pioneer for women and girls.
