American Music Festival Comes To Troy

THIS IS MORE THAN MUSIC YOU HEAR — IT’S MUSIC YOU FEEL!

THURSDAY, MAY 30 - SUNDAY, JUNE 9, 2019 TROY, NY

Experience more than 55 new or recent works by 38 American composers, including 27 world premiere performances celebrating New York’s leading role in the struggle for equal rights.

American master, David Del Tredici and GRAMMY®-winning soprano Hila Plitmann return to the Albany Symphony to perform Pop-pourri, the first of Del Tredici’s famous works inspired by the literary classic “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” Composer, John Corigliano returns to the American Music Festival for the first time since winning Best Classical Instrumental Solo with David Alan Miller in 2013 and the Dogs of Desire premieres Sing Out, New York!, a collection of new works inspired by Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglas, and the 1969 Stonewall uprising.

Plus performances by composer/performer Molly Joyce, the Argus String Quartet, Angélica Negrón, the musicians of the Albany Symphony, and a four-concert tour of FREE performances!
