Salary: $18 hourly/12-month employee (no late nights or weekends)

Work Location: Wynantskill & Albany (Palisades Drive)

Job Summary
Provide support to ensure the efficient and smooth operating functions of the Audiology office.

Essential Functions:
The following reflects the management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that be assigned.

Performs responsibilities such as answer, screen, and take messages in a professional and timely manner, taking accurate messages with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy
Validates and checks eligibility of a patient’s insurance information
Updates and refiles claims with insurances wherever applicable
Enters data and scans new patient forms, picture ID, insurances for patients in the TIMS audiology program
Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing
Opens boxes/packages of daily deliveries from Fed-Ex, UPS, etc., and scans information in the patient’s file
Prepares weekly bank deposit slip for the owner’s deposit
Opens, date stamps, and sorts incoming mail
Prepares and sends outgoing mailings and packages
Schedules patient appointments as needed
Handles insurance claims through the TIMS program
Other job-related duties as assigned by the Office Manager

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge/Work Style:
Accurate keyboard skills
Ability to have compassion toward patients in a professional manner
Ability to perform the job in adherence to the highest standards of ethical conduct
Have knowledge of HIPAA & Patient Confidentiality and improve job performance through continuing education an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information
Ability to work with the Audiology Office Manager and team to manage patient schedules
A basic knowledge of computers, e.g., Microsoft Word, etc.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent with experience
