Reports To: Director of Student Support Services

SUMMARY:
The COVID Coordinator is responsible for maintaining Albany Leadership’s
overarching response to the COVID-19 pandemic, developing plans and protocols that
balance staff and student health and safety and access to academics. This work is done in
partnership with school leadership and stakeholders. Note: This is a one year only
position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an

Description of Job Tasks
1. Track, analyze, advise, consult, and implement new/updated public health guidelines in
coordination with the School Nurse. Continuously monitor the school’s preparedness
activities, protocols, and responses to the ever-changing conditions.
2. Serve as Albany Leaderships primary liaison with County Departments of Health, NYS
Department of Health and other public health agencies, facilitating conversations about
and review of the school’s COVID-19 response and plans; serving as the primary point of
contact for questions
3. Develop and deliver training to staff and stakeholders related to contact tracing, health
and safety protocols, and other COVID-19 response related standard operating
procedures.

4. Oversee compliance with public health requirements for contact tracing and the
district’s overall contact tracing strategy, maintaining/updating the COVID-19 Response
Team protocols, as necessary; protocol updates/changes and training; and more.
5. Serve as a resource and provide guidance to school administrators regarding protocols,
contact tracing, and communication including effective implementation.
6.Provide assistance with contact tracing for cases.
7. Support the logistics activities of health/nursing staff and Operations staff, in relation to
the purchasing of COVID19 related supplies
8. Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in related field

EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrates proper attitude and experience working with high school girls, preferably
within an urban setting. Exhibits quality relationships with staff, students, parents, and
broader community. Has a commitment to accountability metrics and is familiar with
data management designed to provide data-based decision making to improve student
behavior and achievement.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, DISPOSITIONS:
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interpret scientific and statistical information and prepare informational
materials to meet the needs of various audiences
• Ability to explain complex information to the public in a clear, concise, accessible
manner
• Ability to develop and present school-wide communication and trainings
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
• Ability to maintain honesty and integrity in all aspects of the job
• Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance requirements, including regular and
punctual employee presence
• Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people
from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds

• Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules,
practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe
conditions to the appropriate administrator

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the school’s policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include motivating and guiding employees; motivating
and guiding students; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY:
Assist with developing, administering, monitoring, and coordinating budget for this
specific area of the school’s operation and initiating requisitions for the same.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the COVID Coordinator is regularly required to
stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. The COVID Coordinator must occasionally lift and/or
move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Dealing with other adults
and students sometimes is in quiet areas and sometimes noisy ones.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the COVID Coordinator is regularly required to
use interpersonal skills; frequently required to compare, analyze, communicate,
coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate and negotiate.
