Unity House collecting donations to provide Thanksgiving dinner to local families

As the holiday season approaches, Unity House is partnering with CEO and Capital Roots to collect food and financial donations to provide Thanksgiving food packages for 200 households in Rensselaer County. The packages will include the makings of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, including fresh produce and pies, and a gift card to enable families and individuals to purchase a protein of their choice to complete the meal. Donations are being accepted at Unity House’s Front Door, located at 2431 Sixth Ave. in Troy.

Families in need of assistance with food for Thanksgiving are encouraged to contact Unity House’s Community Resources staff at (518) 274-2607. Interested families should reach out as soon as possible since q maximum of 200 food packages will be distributed.

Unity House serves almost 6,000 households annually through its Community Resources program including the food pantry and community meals program, and continues to be a place of comfort for many families and individuals who are struggling in our local community.
