Pioneer Bank Announces $250,000 Donation During the Pioneer Bank Foundation Grand Carnival

Pioneer Bank President and CEO Tom Amell took to the stage at the Pioneer Bank Foundation Grand Carnival yesterday to announce a $250,000 donation by the bank to fund the newly-formed Foundation’s initiatives.

The announcement was applauded by the 800 attendees of the Grand Carnival, the Pioneer Bank Foundation’s first public event. 100% of $10,000 in proceeds from the event were donated to the Foundation, a nonprofit entity dedicated to supporting charitable organizations in the Capital Region that provide important services to children and their families related to education, nutrition, clothing, and housing.  By addressing such issues, the Foundation aims to help “Kids Be Kids.”

“By way of this donation, I am proud to announce the latest way in which Pioneer Bank is giving back to the communities we serve,” said Pioneer Bank President and CEO Tom Amell. “The Pioneer Bank Foundation was formed with the goal of making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, and this donation and the money raised at the Grand Carnival will make a tremendous positive impact. This is a truly great beginning for the Foundation.”

Attendees of the Grand Carnival, which was held at Pioneer Plaza in Colonie, enjoyed carnival games, face painting, balloon animals, magic shows, caricatures, food and more. Over the course of the day, more than 1,500 burgers, hot dogs and cookies were served up by 165 Pioneer Bank volunteers, and Amell was sent plunging into the dunk tank more than a dozen times shortly after announcing the quarter-million-dollar pledge, as were Pioneer Bank Chief Customer Experience Officer Jesse Tomczak and B95.5’s Chad O’Hara.
