The Arts Center of the Capital Region is happy to announce and welcome our community back to our galleries to view our Winter 2021 exhibitions including work by artist Jamie Rodriguez and the 120˚ Intercollegiate Art Regional student artworks.

“Warenfetischismus:” Commodity Fetishism by Jamie Rodriguez | March 5 – April 16, 2021

“Warenfetischismus:” evokes emotion and awareness in the individual and confronts how art functions social and cultural patterns, historical perspectives, and belief/faith systems, while maintaining a sense of humor and humility. Rodriguez uses landscape and nature’s beauty as a platform for thought and/or discussion allowing the viewer to the work in any way they may choose, or to remain completely detached from his work altogether.

Rodriguez was our 2019 Fence Select Member “Best in Show” artist. With this recognition and award, he was offered a show in one of our galleries.

“Jamie’s strength in presentation, painting and sculptural skill brings viewers into the narrative of the art with a familiar understanding of the beauty in known or familiar objects while addressing his view on the underlying story. Stunning work.” – Belinda Colón, Curator.
